Introducing KeyChurch 101 - 'Who We Are'

September 2nd, 2010 | by Pastor Perry Babb

'You know a group by it's values.'

By 'values', I do not mean what a group says it believes and values.

By 'values', I mean what a group says it believes and values and actually does.

Real values are practiced.

1Chr. 12:32 of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command;

When we have the supernatural tools for understanding the times, which are knowing God as the Creator, having Jesus as the Redeemer, and having Holy Spirit as the Enabler or Helper, then we can move on to some of the natural tools at our disposal.

Let’s explore some of these natural resources.  One of these resources could be found in ‘History’.  History that includes your family history, national history, and the history of your foes.

Fathers and sons comprise some teams in Hockey league in Tyrone

August 30th, 2010 | by Theron Glenny

I am the Sports and Human Development Coordinator at Joshua House and a Usher at KeyChurch.  I am the Tyrone Roller Hockey League (TRHL) founder and director.  When I was in junior high school, I played street hockey with my friends and even went to a small roller hockey camp in Hollidaysburg.  It was one of my favorite things to do!  Roller hockey is not a school sport.  Much of my time was devoted to football, basketball, and baseball.  Hockey was just a hobby.  Four years ago, I realized we had a great hockey rink in Tyrone and genuinely got the urge to play again. I met a number of people who played pick-up at the roller rink on Saturdays.

We live in a time when it is almost impossible to have a conversation with a teenager unless you text them, chat on Facebook, TWEET, etc.  Do you know that on average, teenage girls send 80 texts per day 1? Teenage boys average 30 a day 1!  These numbers are AVERAGES!  Sadly, many teenagers have trouble interacting face to face with people and feel they can only communicate openly electronically.

1Chr. 12:32 of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command;

Understanding the times is so critical in this hour.  To understand the times we cannot be ignorant or like ostriches who stick their heads in the sand out of fear or even worse religious. Our worldview has to be from a biblical perspective not just religious in order to process accurately what we see going on in today’s world.
